UF Health Shands Hospital

Lead and manage construction projects of varying sizes; primary focus on standalone facilities, surgical/ORs, and imaging/radiology spaces. Management of total project budgets ranging from $250,000 to $35M and management of A/E design teams and CMs/GCs/ Subcontractors/Vendors, user/customer groups. Architectural planning/design and code support for various other projects.

Lead and manage the clinical and support/adjacent groups (operations/maintenance, safety/security, clinical engineering, supply chain, pharmacy, EVS, etc) on processes for directing new/expanded facilities and equipment procurement for projects; supplemental to existing construction management responsibility process. 

Lead and direct internal process improvements, including formal processes/procedures, checklists, startup/closeout, continuous coordination with maintenance department,  facility standards.

UF Health Ocala Neighborhood Hospital, Orthopedics and Pain Clinic, Ocala, FL

Completion Date: 2024

Provide programming and medical planning for a 28,000sf Orthopedics and Pain clinic that will include exam rooms, procedure rooms, diagnostic imaging, physician offices and administrative/support spaces.

UF Health Florida Recovery Center Relocation, Gainesville, FL

Completion Date: 2024

Total Project Cost: $2.5M

Provide A/E services for Florida Recovery Center relocation in Gainesville, Florida. An 18,000sf renovation project will include group therapy space, individual therapy space, physician offices and administrative/support space.

UF Health East Side Urgent Care Center, Gainesville, FL

Completion Date: July 2024

Total Project Cost: $6.3M

Part of an initiative for a new site development that includes a city transit hub and other retail services, this clinic will provide urgent care services and a community connection to the east side of Gainesville.

UF Health World Equestrian Center (WEC) Orthopedics Clinic and Pharmacy, Ocala, FL

Completion Date: December 2023

Total Project Cost: $4.4M

TI project that includes an Urgent Care Center and Retail Pharmacy on the World Equestrian Center's fast-growing campus. The Urgent Care Center includes 8 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms, x-ray and support services; the Pharmacy includes retail pharmacy to support the local community.

UF Health Medical Office Building II at Springhill, Gainesville, FL

Completion Date: July 2018

Total Project Cost: $32M ($29M construction)

Managing A/E design team, construction planning and budget for a new 80,000sf, 3-story, standalone medical office building, housing clinics for internal medicine, family medicine, pediatric psychology, pain management, pharmacy and lab services.  

UF Health Cardiovascular/Neuromedicine Hospital, Gainesville, FL 

Completion Date:  November 2017

Total Project Cost: $325M ($250M construction)

Provide early project management support, with a focus on planning/design for surgical services and radiology/imaging for a 500,000sf academic medical hospital. A total of 20 ORs (cath, EP, cardiac, neuro, hybrid, iMRI), imaging suite (MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, radiography, ultrasound) and support spaces.

UF Health Freestanding Emergency Center - Kanapaha, Gainesville, FL

Completion Date: October 2016

Total Project Cost: $13M ($7M construction)

Managing A/E design team, equipment/transition planning and budget, and construction management for a new 10,000sf, single-story, standalone emergency center. Project includes 14 exam rooms, bariatric room, trauma, CT, radiography and ancillary support spaces. Project was delivered within budget and on time. 

UF Health Children’s Surgical Center Relocation, Gainesville, FL

Completion Date:  April 2016

Total Project Cost: $11M ($7.8M construction)

Managing A/E design team, equipment/transition planning and budget, and construction management budget for a new 18,000sf, single-story, children’s surgical suite addition to an existing ASC. Project includes four ORs, pre- and post-op spaces, and ancillary support spaces.. Project was delivered within budget.

Managing A/E design teams, equipment/transition planning and construction for a range of projects, which include OR renovations, hybrid OR renovations, imaging equipment upgrades, clinic renovations, etc. Projects range from 400-2,000sf .

UF Health – Shands Hospital, Pediatric Congenital Heart Center, Gainesville, FL

Project Architect and medical planning for a 22,500sf, 23-bed, pediatric/cardiac intensive care unit renovation at Shands Hospital; leading and coordinating all design and construction for the planning, design, documentation and construction phases.

UF Health – Shands Hospital, Burn Intensive Care Unit Renovation, Gainesville, FL

Completion Date:  September 2013

Total Construction Cost: $2.2M

 Project Manager and Project Architect for a critical, fast-track renovation of the burn intensive care unit (8,000sf), including the coordination architectural/MEP systems, documentation and construction administration for an open pod conversion to private rooms and associated support spaces. The project required 24/7 commitment, observation and coordination of construction to re-open a critical department and patient flow; project duration 8 weeks.
